Aging of the face is inevitable. As the years go by, gravity causes the muscle and tissues of all areas of the face to descend resulting in a tired, aged appearance. Your face will continue to age, but a face-lift does “take years off” your face. A face-lift is the most extensive way to remove and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging of the face caused by age.

While the patient is sleepy (sedated) and pain-free (local anesthesia) or deep sleep and pain-free (general anesthesia), the plastic surgeon makes incisions above the hairline at the temples, behind the earlobe to the lower scalp. The surgeon removes some of the fat tissue and loose skin and then stitches (sutures) the incisions closed. The surgery normally takes between 3 to 5 hours. Even though most patients experience very little pain after surgery, this can be controlled with oral pain killers. Some degree of swelling and bruising is unavoidable, which is reduced to minimum by application of a cold compress. Healing process can take 2-3 weeks. You can return to work in 10 days. Scars are usually not noticeable after enough time has passed for them to mature.

Eyes are the most expressive organs of our body. Droopy or sagging eyelids often occur as we age and can affect both our vision and appearance. Bags under the eyelids are a common problem too.

The sign of ageing-drooping eyelid (ptosis) can be corrected with aesthetic procedures to regain a more youthful look. Eyelid cosmetic surgery (Blepharoplasty) removes excess skin from the upper eyelids, fat pouches under the eyes and corrects sagging or drooping eyelids to give your eyes and face a young and rejuvenated appearance. Surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia. The operation takes one or two hours under normal circumstances. Sometimes surgery is performed under general anesthesia, particularly if combined with other cosmetic facial procedures. Bruising and swelling are common following surgery and application of cold to the surgical sites is generally recommended following surgery. A postoperative visit is often recommended within the first week or two after surgery.

Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding affect the shape and firmness of your breasts. Breast lift or mastopexy is to raise and reshape and firmness of your breasts.

During a breast lift procedure loose, excess skin is removed and the remaining skin is tightened. A breast lift can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. Your physician will assess the degree of ptosis or sagging of your breasts to determine the procedure that is best for you. There are generally three degrees of ptosis classified as minor, moderate and severe breast lift. Procedure may last approximately one to four hours depending on the complexity of the procedure.

Mastopexy usually is performed under general anesthesia, although local anesthesia may be used in particular cases. The surgeon will remove extra skin and lift your breast tissue up into the proper location. If you are getting implants the surgeon will insert them and then close and bandage your breasts. You may have tiny drains in your breasts for 24 to 48 hours. Your bandages will be removed on the first or second day after your operation. Within two to three weeks your surgeon will remove all your stitches.
